Assistant Herbal Dispenser Part Time Position 12 hours/ Flexible working times, with a view to moving to a full time position over the coming years.

As an accredited Living Wage employer, we will pay the successful candidate £10 per hour during probation, which will then increase to £10.50 per hour once probation is complete.

Dr Sally's Botanicals is a relatively new venture of Orchard Barn Health to make the natural healthcare and herbal medicine we have provided for our patients accessible to all, with our of the shelf products.

 

We are an independent company, owned by people who are passionate about what we do, and we are proud to provide an affordable choice of natural health care for all people.

Our continued success to date with our new products and our bespoke prescriptions for patients has led to the need to increase our team again, and we are now looking for a part time Herbal Dispenser to join us in our Orchard Barn Health Dispensary, carrying out a wide range of duties, including:

- Preparing herbal prescriptions and products (full training provided)

- General administration, including using multiple software packages

- Working closely with the dispensary and clinic team to maintain a smooth running and efficient operation

- Communicating with our customers, ensuring we deliver the services and products they need

Reporting to our Dispensary and Production Manager, the job will also involve maintaining hygiene standards and a safe and clean working environment, as well as other varied duties across the business as and when the need arises.

This is a part time position, which brings with it an exciting opportunity to learn all about the natural healthcare sector, and the potential for a long-term career in a growing industry.

 

Working hours are 12 per week, and the hours can be flexible.

Desirable attributes

- An interest in herbal medicine, natural health and alternative therapies and products

- Confident and experienced with using software such as shipping solutions, appointment booking systems, Microsoft office and google applications.

- Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety for Manufacturing

- Manual Handling Certification

- First Aid Certification

Farmers Market and Exhibitions Co-ordinator

Variable/ Flexible Hours approx 30 hours per month, £433 per month

Seasonal Starts end of February 2022 (no markets in January or February)

 

An opportunity to oversee the running of our busy monthly farmers market to work with the Business Development Manager and Marketing Manager on continuing to grow the successful monthly Farmers and Artisan markets.

Flexible Hours but set up day before and to be present on the day of the monthly market essential (first Saturday of the month).

Responsibilities

  • Assign selling spaces and help with set up and set down.
  • Ensure that all applicable licenses, permits, and insurances are filed with relevant agencies. Guidance is on all the forms submitted just following up and ensuring paperwork is kept together and assesable.
  • Help Advertise and promote the market, workshops and exhibitions.
  • Stress the sale of high quality produce. Monitor each product and encourage them to market only high quality goods
  • Assure the market is operated in a timely and efficient manner,
  • Settle or prevent disputes
  • Be friendly, courteous, and consistent in all dealings with both farmers and consumers.
  • Have clear emergency procedures in place for accidents, medical emergencies, safety or crime issues, severe weather, or natural disasters. Have quick access to a first aid kit and, in some cases, a fire extinguisher.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR is beneficial but not essential as most staff are trained in first aid.
  • Continually evaluate the markets strengths and weaknesses. Conduct customer surveys, track overall sales, and monitor for potential improvements in daily logistics, outreach efforts, and product selection. As you can see, the position of farmers market manager is deserving of respect and professionalism, and the job can be as complex as it is rewarding.

 

Role does require physical ability to lift weight of moving and erecting gazebos.

Reception and Administration

Part time 12 hours per week, increasing to 17 hours in March

Wednesday 9am - 1pm, Thurs 1pm - 5pm and Fri 9am - 1pm (starting in March Sat 9.30am - 2.30pm)

An opportunity to join our reception team, we are looking for a friendly and efficient receptionist with a keen interest in health to carry out the following role.

  • Offer general assistance to the health centre team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
  • Greet, assist and direct patients in a professional, courteous, efficient and effective way
  • Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the centre, including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to practitioners.
  • Facilitate and assist the running of the healthcare shop including processing payments and restocking.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the centre administration team may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the centre manager, dependent on current and evolving centre workload:

 

  • Opening up/locking up of practice premises and maintaining security.
  • Maintaining and monitoring the centre appointment and events system
  • Occasionally you may be required to help cover holiday cover for reception.
  • Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations, and ensuring callers are directed accordingly.
  • Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail
  • Taking messages and passing on information
  • Filing and retrieving paperwork
  • Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information as requested.
  • Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member.
  • Clearing and preparing of the studio for classes.
  • Providing clerical assistance to centre practitioners as required from time to time, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning
  • Keeping the reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter
  • Maintaining the shop area and restocking shelves.
  • Assisting patients with any shop purchases or finding the products they have been prescribed or require.
